Chao Phraya River Bangkok

The life blood of Thailand's capital is the Chao Phraya River Bangkok. Not only is it a major tourist attraction but it is a home and place of work for many thousands of Thais.

These are dozens of top quality riverside hotels in Bangkok because the river has so much to offer tourists.

A favourites for the tourists are the floating markets where you can pick up a bargain from a selection of interesting Thai food. It also allows you to close up to Thais who use the river to make their living.

Use the river to make your Thailand travel experience more comfortable. We recommend the river boats which can be a brilliant way to avoid some of Bangkok's traffic, especially if you are staying near the Shangri-la and Sheraton hotels and want to visit Wat Po (temple) or the Grand Palace.

There are plenty of piers along the way. It's really easy to navigate using the (almost) idiot proof maps located in each pier.... like most forms of transport in Thailand it is so cheap to use.

If you are staying on the west side of the Chao Phraya, all the hotels have boats that will transport you across to the busier east bank. there are also a number of restaurants eager for you custom that will also ferry you across.

For those of you who want to get up the river a little quicker, you can hire your own personal long tailed boat! This will certainly allow you to see more of Bangkok from the river assuming your pilot remembers to slow down....

The River boat cruises are exceptionally efficient, well at least the ones I have been on are.The evening cruises are comfortable and you can enjoy an excellent meal whilst taking in the sights.

And just in case you forgot; it is the Chao Phraya River Bangkok ............ enjoy
